Sever’s syndrome
It is an orthopedic condition that occurs mainly in children up to 16 years of age. It usually develops due to rapid growth, especially when high-impact sports are practiced. It is characterized by injury to the cartilage at the level of the heel, causing pain in this region and consequent difficulty walking and running, with alteration of the walking pattern. There may also be edema in the region and functional limitations due to pain. In these cases, it is common to find muscle shortening/reduced flexibility of the musculature at the back of the lower limb.
