Cervical spine pain
Cervicalgia is a term that refers to pain felt at the level of the cervical spine (neck). Cervicalgia may have many causes, such as maintaining inadequate postures that generate muscular tension and changes in spinal alignment, degenerative problems of the vertebral joints, problems of the intervertebral discs, muscular spasms, overload of the cervical spine due to poor functioning of other regions of the spine that generate biomechanical changes and consequent cervical hypermobility to compensate, trauma, among others. It is important to carry out a detailed assessment to determine which structure or structures are at the origin of the symptoms in order to guide the treatment.
