Torticollis
Torticollis is caused by a sustained contraction of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, located on the lateral side of the neck. It causes neck pain and difficulty in movements of the cervical spine, such as rotation, inclination, and flexion. Torticollis may be caused by several reasons, such as maintaining incorrect postures for prolonged periods, performing repetitive movements of the cervical spine, alterations of the spinal joints and discs, or trauma. In these cases, it is important to relieve the symptoms and restore mobility, as well as to seek intervention on the primary cause triggering this problem.
