Pes anserine tendinitis

Inflammation of the pes anserinus tendon, which inserts on the inner side of the knee. This tendon is the common insertion tendon of the sartorius, semitendinosus, and gracilis muscles. This condition often arises due to overload, postural misalignments of the knee, muscular flexibility imbalances, or trauma. Pain is predominantly located on the inner side of the knee and may radiate to the thigh. It often occurs together with inflammation of the bursa located in the same region (bursitis).
