Shoulder osteoarthritis
It is characterized by an alteration in the integrity of the articular cartilage covering the joint structures of the shoulder complex. This cartilage progressively degenerates and wears down, potentially causing structural changes. The most frequent site of osteoarthritis development in the shoulder is the acromioclavicular joint, which may be a source of pain, limitation of mobility, and consequent limitations in activities of daily living. Treatment aims to control pain, improve mobility, and act towards preventing the progression of joint degeneration.
