Postural deviations of the spine
There are several postural deviations in relation to what is considered the ideal posture for the human body. Ideal posture depends on several factors and is the posture that allows a more balanced functioning of the various body joints, with lower energy expenditure for our organism. In the spine, the most common alterations are scoliosis (see), and the increase or decrease of the normal physiological curvatures. In a side view, the spine physiologically presents a cervical lordosis and a lumbar lordosis with posterior concavity, and a thoracic kyphosis with posterior convexity. Common alterations are thoracic hyperkyphosis (exaggeration of the physiological kyphosis) or thoracic flattening (decrease of the kyphosis), and hyperlordosis (exaggeration of the lordosis) or flattening of the lumbar and cervical lordosis. Global Postural Reeducation (GPR) is especially indicated in these cases.
