Scheuermann’s disease
Scheuermann’s disease is a disorder in the development of the spine that causes patients to present a forward-curved posture (hyperkyphosis). It is a structural developmental problem of the spine, different from a common postural kyphosis. In this condition, the anterior part of the vertebral body does not develop sufficiently, producing a rigid kyphosis. Patients present severe postural alterations and consequent overload of the cervical and lumbar spine.
