Preparation for Birth and Parenthood

Let’s talk about preparing for birth and the arrival of a baby

It feels almost impossible not to create expectations around childbirth and parenthood. However, birth and the immediate postpartum period are perhaps some of the most unpredictable moments in our lives.

Even so, I believe that women who feel respected, informed, and included in the decisions that arise throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood tend to have experiences they perceive as happier and more reassuring, even when things do not go as planned.

Feeling respected, safe, and capable are powerful foundations for you, as a mother or father, to experience this journey in a positive way.

Our children will always be our greatest teachers in becoming parents. Still, in preparing for their arrival, we can create a safe space within ourselves to live parenthood with greater calm and confidence.

For me, as a physiotherapist working with this population and, above all, as a mother, preparing for birth and parenthood means equipping couples with the knowledge and skills to use their voice, stand by their choices, trust their intuition, and make decisions at each moment and challenge that best serve the three people at the heart of this journey: mother, father, and baby.
